E. Boynton Beach Boulevard Extension and Promenade Park Construction Project

  • PROJECT LOCATION: 750 E. Boynton Beach Boulevard
  • COMMENCEMENT: 2003
  • COMPLETION: April 2006
  • DEVELOPER(s): City Of Boynton Beach; BBCRA; Burkhardt Construction
  • BBCRA DISTRICT: Downtown

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The BBCRA oversaw the completion of a 1.4 acre boulevard extension and waterfront promenade just north of the expanding Downtown District. Bordering the Intracoastal Waterway and adjacent to a natural mangrove preserve, the promenade opened to the public in April 2006, providing an area for visitors to enjoy scenic walking trails, a seating area with shade structures, and a new waterfront venue for special events.

The lushly landscaped Promenade Park offers plenty of shade and access to the Intracoastal Waterway.

Strategically planned by the BBCRA and City Commission, the 3-year, $13 million project helps preserve the City’s heritage and charm and is serving as a catalyst for new investment and development in the surrounding area such as Marina Village, the newly renovated Boynton Harbor Marina, Casa Costa, and 500 Ocean.
