PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

As part of the efforts to support the commercial and economic development in the Heart of Boynton specifically the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard corridor, the BBCRA provided the developer with several parcels together with privately sold parcels to move the Family Dollar project forward. This project provided the site for the construction of a 8,320 square foot commercial building that would also create eleven (11) new jobs in this community. 

Family Dollar shoppers were greeted with fanfare and festivities as the Family Dollar store opened its doors on October 29, 2015. The new store located at 100 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard featured Family Dollar’s newest layout designed to make shopping easier. The new store not only provided shoppers with everyday value and convenience, it also created jobs in the community. This project is the first commercial development project in the Heart of Boynton in over 40 years. The BBCRA was a financial partner in the project by providing a portion of the land and some economic development grant funding.
